Hillsborough Medical Practice is a growing General Practice with approx. 11000 patients.

We are seeking a motivated and dedicated individual to join our growing and dynamic team! The environment is fast paced so a person who enjoys working within an evolving practice and can easily adapt to change is desirable.

As part of your role you will be providing the first point of contact for patients accessing medical care from their GPs and other healthcare professionals in the Practice. You will be working within defined processes to support GPs, nurses and other health professionals to provide health-related services for patients as well as welcoming patients at the front desk; assisting with checking in for appointments; ordering and collecting prescriptions, requests for letters and many other aspects of patient care.

Answering the telephone and according to protocols making appointments, taking requests for prescriptions and dealing with the many questions patients have as well as doing general administrative activities is a large part of the roll. Preparing prescriptions, liaising with colleagues both in house and out of hours and completing a wide range of administrative tasks are also key tasks involved.

The Practice staff has a reputation for excellent patient services and we are looking for a receptionist to join our team who can deliver an equally high standard of care. We need somebody who can work within guidelines, maintain absolute confidentiality for patients and the Practice and all within a very busy and demanding environment.

The post is for 16.5 hours.

Working hours would be:

Thursday: 8.30am - 6pm

Friday: 8.30am - 5.30pm

Occasional overtime may be offered during busy periods. There is a one hour lunch break each day.
