We are seeking a dynamic and professional trainer to deliver 'Medical Emergencies' training sessions tailored specifically for dental professionals. This role is ideal for a paramedic-qualified clinician with a strong background in emergency care and a passion for teaching.
The successful candidate will train dentists and dental care teams to effectively recognise and manage medical emergencies in the dental setting, in line with current UK Resuscitation Council and GDC requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver engaging and evidence-based ILS and Medical Emergencies training sessions to dentists and dental teams across various clinical settings.
Ensure all training is compliant with GDC CPD requirements, CQC standards, and Resuscitation Council (UK) guidelines.
Teach the recognition and management of common medical emergencies in dentistry, including anaphylaxis, cardiac arrest, syncope, hypoglycaemia, and seizures.
Demonstrate and assess practical skills such as Basic Life Support (BLS), AED usage, airway management, and emergency drug administration.
Tailor course content to meet the specific needs of each dental practice or audience.
Provide clear documentation of attendance, assessments, and feedback.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of current best practices in emergency medicine and CPD standards.
Travel to dental practices or training venues as required (travel expenses covered where appropriate).
Requirements:
Essential:
HCPC-registered Paramedic with a minimum of 2 years post-registration experience.
Level 3 Award in Education and Training (AET), or CertEd, or PGCE or equivalent training qualification.
Experience delivering training.
Proven experience in delivering clinical training or adult education.
Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
Strong organisational skills and ability to work independently.
Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel.
Desirable:
ILS instructor with Resus Council UK.
Familiarity with CQC inspection frameworks and dental clinical governance.
Membership with a relevant professional body (e.g., College of Paramedics).
