Are you looking to start your career in the NHS sector? Fartown Green Road Surgery are looking to appoint a Medical Receptionist Apprentice! You will join their dedicated team of healthcare professionals, who have an appetite for innovation and have been part of building a successful new primary care model. The suitable candidate must possess excellent customer service skills and work well under pressure.

Responsibilities

Guiding and helping patients EMIS medical computer management Greet patients warmly and professionally upon arrival, ensuring a welcoming environment. Manage appointment scheduling, cancellations, and reminders efficiently using practice management software. Answer incoming calls promptly, providing accurate information or directing calls to appropriate staff members. Maintain accurate patient records, updating personal details and medical histories as required. Handle administrative tasks such as filing, photocopying, and processing correspondence. Collect patient information, including insurance details and consent forms, ensuring confidentiality at all times. Ensure the reception area remains tidy, organised, and welcoming for patients and visitors.

Qualifications

GCSE or equivalent in Maths - Desired GCSE or equivalent in English - Desired

Ability to work well under pressure Customer Service skills Patience Ability to maintain confidentiality Accuracy Computer and IT skills Bi lingual in punjabi or hindi - not necessary but will be an asset
Whilst enrolled, you will complete a Customer Service Practitioner Level 2 qualification standard.

You will attend the National Business College (HD1) for day release, once every 2 weeks, to complete the knowledge sessions required for your apprnticeship.

Once completed, progression into a higher administrative role within the surgery, working alongside the practice manager, with the opportunity to undertake a level 3 apprenticeship.

Job Types: Full-time, Apprenticeship

Pay: 7.55 per hour

Expected hours: 37 per week
