Job Summary
We are seeking a professional and friendly Medical Receptionist to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will be the first point of contact for patients, providing exceptional customer service while managing administrative tasks efficiently. This role requires a strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Duties
Respond to all queries and requests for assistance from patients in a positive and courteous manner, always remembering that you are the person to whom a practice is first judged. Managing communication to/from the practice
Organise patient appointments, supporting patients with information on available services.
Enter requests for home visits and advice calls in EMIS appointment system with all relevant information. If any doubt as to urgency of request, refer immediately to duty doctor. Unless otherwise instructed, take responsibility for passing on a visit or advice request to the appropriate doctor.
Record all messages on the appropriate forms and send through via Docman, including all necessary details to enable the recipient to respond appropriately. Immediately pass on any message that seems urgent or important.
Process repeat prescription requests, printing and issuing to relevant doctors for signature.
Take in prescription requests, enter and print them out and pass on to the Doctors for signature.
Be familiar with Docman protocol and ensure that mail (letters and results) are scanned through on a regular basis and forwarded to the appropriate clinician.
Print off all letters received through clinical email system ready for scanning.
Check that workflow is completed regularly.
Experience
Previous office experience is essential.
Administrative experience is highly desirable, showcasing your ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
Strong interpersonal skills and a compassionate approach to patient care are crucial for success in this role.
