Job summary
Working across our three sites; Cobham Hospital, Epsom Old Cottage Hospital and Epsom Square, you will be responsible for the smooth running of the reception and front of house areas. You will be required to fulfil roles such as making bookings, answering telephone calls and assisting with day-to-day patient queries. Previous reception experience would be advantageous, but not essential so long as you are able to demonstrate previous customer care experience.
Main duties of the job
Support all staff and visitors when they enter the building and reception area ensuring a friendly and welcoming atmosphere is always present
Provide front line telephone duties and triage patient queries to give appropriate support and advice, passing the query to the relevant department where necessary
Electronic filing of letters, results, and patient notes
Input outgoing mail on the Royal Mail system and send out letters and parcels on time each day (when applicable)
Enter patient direct access requests onto the bespoke Patient Administration System
Provide patients with information on services offered by Epsomedical
Liaise with GP surgeries to source information or to provide test results and other medical communications
Book new and follow-up appointments and send appointment cards and/or reminders to patients
Assist with management of patients to avoid missed, cancelled and late appointments and advise appropriate staff of any issues
Escort patients and/or relatives to ward and clinics if required
Hold the keys to each site and be relied upon to open and close the building(s) when rostered for the early, late or Saturday shift
Liaise with Reception Lead, Senior Receptionist, Customer Services Manager and/or other staff members to ensure smooth running of the unit
Any other duties deemed suitable by the manager as appropriate to the role
