We are a friendly and welcoming GP Practice with 15,000 patients across two sites (Ambrose Avenue and Tollgate) in Colchester. We are looking for an enthusiastic, reliable, experienced, and motivated Secretary. The successful candidate must possess excellent interpersonal and administrative skills.
The role of the Secretary is pivotal in maintaining the efficiency of our Practice, supporting our GPs and other Health Professionals with an accurate and efficient secretarial service. This includes copy typing, letters, reports, patient referrals, minutes, memorandums, and telephone calls.
You will initiate and compose correspondence, whether internal or external, professionally, and promptly.
Handling patient concerns and complaints is a key aspect of your role. Your ability to do so in a calm and professional manner is crucial to maintaining our high standards of patient care.
To undertake administrative tasks associated with the referral of patients and accurately maintain and monitor the practice records of referrals.
To assist the practice team with clerical and administrative duties as may be reasonably required. Including Reports, process reviews, letter writing, emailing, scanning
To ensure implementation and adherence to practice policy including. Equality and Diversity, Information Governance (including Data Protection Legislation), Confidentiality and Health and Safety
As a secretary, you will play a crucial role in maintaining and monitoring patient records and information systems, both manual and computerised. Your attention to detail and accuracy will be key in this aspect of the role.
To resolve a wide variety of patient queries received by telephone, in person and writing.
To liaise with other healthcare professionals, secretaries, and administration teams with regards to coordinating patient care.
