Castlegait Surgery is seeking a positive, committed, and professional individual to join our team at our busy Montrose practice. We are looking for a conscientious and well-organised person who is dependable, adaptable, and able to work effectively both as part of a team and independently.

This position would suit someone with a flair for delivering high-quality customer service and the ability to manage a varied and demanding workload. The role involves supporting our patients, the clinical team and members of the wider Primary Care Team whilst contributing to the smooth and efficient day-to-day operation of the practice.

As a key member of the administration team previous experience within a GP practice would be advantageous; however applicants with relevant experience in other fast-paced or customer-facing environments will also be considered. The successful candidate will demonstrate the ability to prioritise competing demands, remain calm under pressure, and maintain a consistently professional approach.

Hours are worked on a rota basis between 8:00am and 6:00pm, Monday to Friday. As part of a supportive team, you will be expected to help provide cover for annual leave and sickness when needed.

Main Duties:

Responding to telephone enquiries from patients and healthcare professionals in a timely and professional manner Welcoming patients and visitors and ensuring a high standard of customer care Managing appointment scheduling, amendments, and cancellations both in person and by telephone Handling patient enquiries along with other administrative tasks Carrying out general reception and office duties, including processing mail, filing and updating records using clinical software Supporting colleagues and healthcare professionals with clerical and administrative tasks

Essential Skills and Qualities:

Professional, confident, and approachable with strong communication skills Flexible and adaptable to meet the demands of a busy healthcare environment Willing to participate in training and ongoing professional development IT literate with a high attention to detail and accuracy
Salary from 23,874 (pro rata) dependant on experience.
