Talbot Medical Centre is looking to recruit either a 24.5 hour receptionist.
We are looking for someone who can work well within a friendly, fun, caring team and play their part to ensuring we meet the needs of the patients.
Responsible To:
Office Manager and ultimately The Practice Managers.
- To work within the reception team and effectively manage your own time, workload and resources
- Integrate with other members of the practice and wider teams both clinical and non-clinical.
- Liaise with patients and their representatives in a polite, considerate and confidential manner both face to face and by telephone
IT/Telephony
- Working with the practices multiple IT systems
- Completing relevant training either online or face to face
- Deal with incoming, make outgoing and the re-direction of calls to the relevant recipient
- Responsible for maintaining detailed and accurate records.
- Scanning correspondence received into the practice
Maintain patient appointment system
- Receive and record requests for appointments via telephone, email etc
- Care Navigating patients to the appropriate service
- Arriving and welcoming patients attending for face to face appointments
- Booking hospital appointments when referred via GP
Processing patient medication requirements
- Issuing medication requests in accordance with practice guidelines via telephone, email etc
- Communicating with pharmacies
- Liaising with our allocated pharmacy colleagues

Health & Safety
- Report any equipment or building faults to the Practice Manager
- Ensure on a daily basis, the compliance with legislation relating to health and safety at work.
- To open and close the building if appropriate according to the surgery security policy.

Extended Hours
This post will also cover the extended hours opening of the practice, which will involve reception and telephone cover during evening extended hours surgery.
