Job Title: Medical Receptionist

Hours: 37.5

Salary: 12.21p/h

We have 2 full time posts available and we are looking for medical receptionists to join our team.

Norfolk Street Surgery is located in Shelton and provides care to over 20,000 patients. We are a friendly and supportive 2 partner practice with a multi-professional team including GPs, Advanced Nurse Practitioner, Nurses, Healthcare Assistants and Physician Associates. We are a training practice and provide training to GP Registrars, Foundation Trainees and Medical Students.

Duties will include but not exhaustive:

Scheduling / cancelling appointments via telephone and in person. Dealing effectively with urgent requests and requests for home visits. Be the first point of contact for patients, carers or relatives and provide appropriate assistance. Signposting patients to the correct service. Undertake general administrative support: photocopying, filing, data entry, internal and external emails and post. Communicate effectively with other team members. Recording information in an accurate and timely fashion using EMIS. Maintain confidentiality of information relating to patients, carers, relatives, staff and the practice.
We are looking for an individual with:

Excellent all round communication skills. Experience of working in a surgery would be useful however training will be provided. Ability to work under pressure. Good organisational and administration skills.
Working hours are between:

8.30am - 6.30pm Monday - Friday
