The Person
The ideal candidate will be warm, friendly, approachable and have a reassuring manner whilst providing "the best" customer service every day, for every patient who enters or calls the surgery. They can adhere to strict confidentiality policies and absolute discretion with regards to patients and colleagues. As they will be interacting with people from every walk of life, they must be a People Person and an excellent team player with a superb can-do attitude. In addition, they should be comfortable in reassuring and dealing with anxious, concerned and often unwell patients.
The role
Dealing with patient queries and requests by phone or in person, efficiently and accurately
To effectively manage arrangements for all patient appointments, dealing efficiently with an appointment booking system
Production of acute and repeat prescription requests for patient medications
Supporting the clinical team and handling their requests
A variety of other activities that could be reasonably expected of a medical receptionist
The successful candidate will meet the following Essential Crieteria
GCSE Maths and English at grade "C" or above or equivalent.
Proof of qualifications will be required
1 years' experience of working in a Receptionist/Customer Service orHealthcare environment, gained within the last 5 years
Excellent communication skills
Proficient in the use of MS Office software, email and the internet
The ability to work to deadlines, work in a fast-paced environment with an attention to detail
An understanding, acceptance and adherence to the need for discretion and confidentiality
Desirable Criteria
Previous Medical Receptionist experience
