King George Road Surgery is a small, friendly GP practice located in Walderslade, Chatham. We pride ourselves on delivering high-quality, patient-centred care and fostering a supportive working environment. We are currently looking for a committed, loyal and hard-working Receptionist to join our close-knit team.
Job Summary
The Receptionist plays a key role in supporting the daily operations of the practice. This includes working at reception, providing administrative and secretarial support, and helping to deliver high standards of patient care. The post holder will serve as a liaison between patients, clinicians and other healthcare providers, ensuring care is well-organised, timely and efficient.
Main Duties & Responsibilities
Serve as a point of contact and advocate for patients and their families, offering support with empathy and professionalism.
Coordinate and support clinicians with the smooth running of daily clinics, keeping patients and staff informed.
Provide reception, administrative and secretarial support including managing insurance reports, booking appointments, dealing with patient queries, processing prescriptions and other ad hoc tasks.
Contribute to meeting quality indicators (QOF, KPIs) and assist in the delivery of enhanced services.
Ensure accurate data entry and maintain up-to-date computer records (EMIS Web).
Provide holiday and sickness cover as required within the wider administrative team.
Keep all mandatory training up to date and actively participate in annual appraisals.

Desirable
Basic IT proficiency
Working knowledge of EMIS Web
Experience working in a GP practice or primary care environment
Although desirable, we are willing to train the right candidate.
