General Practice Medical Receptionist & Administrator, 21.5 hours per week

What's the role?
We are looking for a motivated, friendly and flexible Receptionist, to work from mainly our Trellech Site NP25 4RB, but can also be from St Briavels GL15 6TN. You'd be joining the Reception team to deliver high quality and efficient front desk patient services. The role also has opportunities in medical administration, providing efficient processing of data and communication behind the scenes.
The role requires exceptional customer service skills with a warm, listening, empathetic nature, as well as great organisation and administrative abilities. You'll be assisting patients in their care, but also all members of the Practice team and affiliated healthcare professionals with queries support and signposting.
It is a bonus if you have medical reception or administration experience, but not essential. Experience in an office with a variety of software packages is essential and attention to detail is crucial.
~ 21.5 hours per week over 4 days.

The Wye Valley Practice: Two Surgeries, One Aim - Excellence in Healthcare Bridging the Wye.
General functions
Opening and closing of Surgery, depending on rota, including start of day support for colleagues
Welcome patients and visitors, directing initial queries appropriately
Make appointments, registration of temporary and permanent patients, change of patient details, handing out of forms and letters, book patients in
direct patient queries to appropriate member(s) of staff
Answer incoming calls and direct as above
Receive and action emails from patients, tasks from staff
Attend courses as necessary for the Practice, your CPD and/or efficient running of the Reception
Offer cover across both sites for Reception staff absence/annual leave
Assist with and minimise concerns that may lead to patient frustrations
Skills and Competencies
Experience in Reception or Customer Care is essential
Excellent communication, both spoken and written
Well-presented, personable, polite and patient
IT skills, flexibility across software packages
Awareness and adherence to processes and procedures
Retain calm under pressure, maintain confidentiality and data protection
apply common sense in unusual situations
