This is a temporary role as a Medical Secretary at Emerald Place Clinic, which is a new purpose-built Tier 4 Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS) in Surrey. The role involves providing administrative support to the medical team, including managing diaries, planning meetings, updating records, and liaising with external agencies.
Main duties of the job
As a Medical Secretary, you will be responsible for supporting the Registered Clinician with letters and general documentation, participating in the administration, development and evaluation of regulatory matters, coordinating the hospital diary and the whereabouts of the clinicians, booking in meetings, and arranging conference calls. You will also be required to receive and record typing, checking, and amending for spelling and grammatical errors, completing tasks within given deadlines.

You will liaise with external agencies to get up-to-date information on service users and GP letters. Emerald Place Clinic is a general adolescent inpatient unit for the care and treatment of young people aged 13 up to the age of 18. Young people who are admitted to the unit will have a primary diagnosis of mental illness across a wide range of disorders and complex needs.
These could include Mental Health conditions such as Mood Disorders and acute Psychosis. Additionally young people may have co-existing additional needs such as Neurodevelopmental Disorders, including mild Learning Disabilities or Autism. A young person could also be admitted if they have disordered eating.
