Job Description

We are looking for a dedicated and proactive Medical Secretary to join our supportive and friendly team. This role is vital in ensuring smooth day-to-day operations and excellent continuity of patient care. Main Duties and Responsibilities Typing clinical correspondence, reports, and referrals. Processing referrals through NHS systems (e.g.



e-RS). Liaising with hospitals and community services to ensure timely communication and coordination. Managing incoming and outgoing communications (email, phone, letters). Maintaining accurate records, databases, and logs.



Actioning patient requests and administrative queries in a timely manner. Coding and updating clinical records. Supporting the clinical team with ad hoc administrative tasks. Proper use of SNOMED CT codes and adherence to data protection regulations are essential. Service Delivery and Policies Staff must follow practice policies and procedures as outlined during induction and in operational guidance. This ensures a consistent and high-quality service for our patients. Security All staff are responsible for maintaining the security of the building, systems, and patient information.



Access codes, passwords, and restricted areas must be safeguarded. Professional Conduct Staff should maintain a professional appearance and attitude at all times. This includes appropriate attire and respectful communication with patients and colleagues. Annual Leave Leave is calculated pro rata based on contracted hours.



Public holidays are also allocated on a pro rata basis. We encourage all staff to take their full annual leave entitlement.
