Bloody Surgery Ltd is an organisation offering private vascular surgical healthcare as well as expert witness medicolegal services. We wish to engage a medical secretary who will administrate and coordinate both activities.
Duties
Manage patient contact - scheduling of encounters, responding to queries, coordinating communications with the vascular consultant, organising clinical documentation, liaising with other specialties, maintaining clinical records, securing PROMs.
Administrate solicitor communications - receipt of approaches to provide expert input, responses with fee estimates, coordination of interactions during report preparation, despatch of output
Invoice preparation and despatch, procurement of payments, logging of fee receipts, maintenance of communication with company accountants and with external providers.
Maintain, monitor and facilitate activities within shared calendar
Assist with audit and review of clinical and medicolegal data
Uphold confidentiality standards in accordance with relevant regulations.
Essential Qualifications
Ability to touch type in English comfortably at 40 WPM
Background in medical sciences with an understanding of basic healthcare terminology
Good verbal and non-verbal communication skills in person and on remote video exchanges
Competent phone manner and email etiquette
Adaptability to address tasks in ranking of priority
Basic computer, web and mobile interface related technological literacy
A commitment to maintaining confidentiality and adhering to data protection regulations.
Desirable Qualifications
Ability to touch type in English comfortably at 60 WPM
Robust understanding of basic healthcare terminology
Background of knowledge and/or experience in a surgical setting
Excellent verbal and non-verbal communication skills in person and on remote video exchanges
Warm, focused and professional behaviour during phone and email interactions
Proficiency in the use and application of the Microsoft Office suite
Familiarity with Apple based workstations

Appointment process
We will longlist candidates on the basis of receipt of their CV and covering letter.
Longlisted candidates will be invited to submit a 3-5 minute personal video and to respond to a questionnaire based on work elements of the advertised job.
Candidates who are shortlisted based on their video submission and questionnaire response will be offered a 20 minute remote interview via video call.
Selection of the successful candidate will take place at a face to face interview in London. The projected start date for the job is 17 November 2025.
