We are seeking a Medicine Counter Assistant

to work for an independent Community Pharmacy

as part of a group with branches across Watford, Hertfordshire. We operate a number of practices at the heart of the community, so the Dispensary Assistant will have the support of an experienced team in their branch, as well as peers across Chemilab's network to help develop their professional career.

This job is part time, 8 hours over morning and afternoon shifts (TBC). The role is a fantastic opportunity to serve the community, with opportunities to deliver additional clinical services, enabling the individual to put their own stamp on the pharmacy practice.

No prior experience is necessary but the applicant should have diligent attention to detail, while being personable and passionate. They should be driven, confident in communicating and take pride in providing excellent patient care. This Permanent Contract is suitable for those keen to take part in a distance learning course accredited by the GPhC.

Duties:


- Dispense prescription medications and provide medication counseling
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure safe and effective medication use
- Review medication orders for accuracy and appropriateness
- Provide education and guidance to patients on proper medication use and potential side effects
- Participate in pharmacy quality improvement initiatives
- Stay up-to-date with the latest developments in pharmacy practice and drug therapy

Qualifications:


- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Attention to detail and accuracy in medication dispensing
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment on your feet
- Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills
- Interest in pharmaceuticals, drug therapy, and pharmacy regulations
- Accredited Dispensary Assistant course (ADAC) or Medicine Counter Assistant if possible
