Overview

We are looking for a Medicine Counter Assistant to join our friendly, multi-disciplinary pharmacy team. Our counter assistants play a crucial role in the day-to-day running of our busy pharmacy, ensuring patients receive their medicines accurately, safely, and with excellent customer care.

You will work closely with pharmacists, dispensers, and other healthcare professionals to support patient care and the smooth operation of the pharmacy. The ideal candidate will have strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to maintaining high professional standards.

Previous pharmacy experience or a qualified MCA is highly desirable; however, we will also consider candidates with experience working in fast-paced, customer-facing environments.

Key Responsibilities

Serve patients at the medicines counter, ensuring the correct supply of medicines Assist patients with over-the-counter medicines and advice for minor ailments Provide clear information and guidance to patients regarding their medications Maintain excellent standards of patient care while ensuring confidentiality at all times Manage stock levels, including ordering and restocking GSL and P medicines Support the wider pharmacy team through effective communication and teamwork Participate in training and development opportunities to enhance professional skills

Skills & Experience

Previous pharmacy experience is highly desirable If no pharmacy experience, experience in a busy, fast-paced environment is essential Strong patient care skills with the ability to communicate empathetically and clearly Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail to ensure accuracy and safety Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining a positive attitude Confident using computers to maintain accurate records and assist patients
Job Type: Full-time

Pay: 12.21-14.00 per hour
