IIGCC are looking for a Membership Manager to join at a crucial time in the organisation's growth and development.
The person in this role will have a unique and unparalleled opportunity to interact with, and learn from, the world's leading investors in climate finance to build enduring relationships that support and bolster the work that IIGCC is doing.
The role will primarily focus on the day-to-day implementation of our membership strategy to support continued high levels of member retention and new member recruitment.
A key aspect of the role is to understand and articulate the breadth and depth of IIGCC's work to communicate its relevance to the investor community. The role will involve representing the organisation, its different workstreams, and its various initiatives, in discussions with current and potential members.
An ideal candidate would be able to identify an investor's unique needs and highlight the relevant areas of IIGCC's work in order to effectively communicate our value proposition to investors.
Main responsibilities
The work will comprise the following core activities:
Member retention and growth
Support Head of Membership to recruit and retain members with a constant focus on member satisfaction.
Provide comprehensive information and guidance to prospective members via email and meetings.
Support Head of Membership on recruitment meetings with prospective members.
Support Head of Membership develop and implement a seamless on-boarding process for new members.
Track a pipeline of opportunities and build a plan for progressing each opportunity to deliver growth (both in terms of member numbers and income) and provide regular reports for inclusion in the board papers.
Develop strong relationships across the whole organisation to keep abreast of recent developments and ensure members are aware of all that IIGCC has to offer.
Follow up with recent members to check expectations are being met and explore opportunities for engagement/involvement.
Identify members with low engagement levels and investigate any perceived gaps in our offering.
Engage with members to understand feedback on the service they receive from IIGCC, either informally or more formally via consultations, etc. Share feedback with the wider organisation to support enhancement of our overall offering.
Attend industry conferences to build relationships, make new connections, and raise awareness of IIGCC's mission and activities, highlighting recent initiatives, resources and workstreams.
Implement processes to support best-practice account management
Maintain the organisation's CRM system, helping to embed best practice use by the wider organisation.
Build data which is useful and provides relevant information to analyse trends and identify gaps as well as ensuring best practice, GDPR compliant contact management and lead tracking.
Implement systems and processes to streamline and make account management more efficient, using the CRM (HubSpot) and Member Portal.
Contribute to webinar and event organisation, identify relevant guests from target organisations and tracking member registration and attendance as a measure of participation and engagement.
Contribute to team meetings, for example with respect to investor member recruitment and coverage.
Skills and capabilities
Essential
Successful track record of business development or relationship management or account management, preferably within the financial sector or other service-based industries such as management consulting.
Exceptional written and oral communication skills; an empathetic listener and a confident speaker with excellent persuasion and influencing skills.
Comfortable building relationships with people at all levels of seniority (up to C-suite).
Professional, personable, strong attention to detail and customer focused.
Highly effective organisational skills with the ability to manage and prioritise a varied workload, working independently and alongside others.
Highly analytical with the ability to develop pipelines through strategic and targeted planning.
Experience with database/Customer Relationship Management systems, Microsoft Office and social media platforms.
Willingness to travel occasionally within Europe.
Desirable
Experience in or a passion for climate change or sustainability.
At least one other European language in addition to English (especially French, Dutch, German or a Scandinavian language).
