First Team Sports Therapist (with a BSc and a level 4 certificate in soft tissue therapy)
to join our forward-thinking Medical & Sports Science Department. Working at the heart of a high-performance environment, the successful candidate will play a vital role in delivering world-class soft tissue therapy services to our First Team squad.
This is an exciting opportunity for a dedicated professional with experience in elite sport who thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced environment and is committed to maximising player health, performance, and recovery.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide elite-level soft tissue therapy support to both fit and injured First Team players, across training, matchdays, and recovery sessions.
Deliver treatments in a range of environments including stadiums, hotels, training camps (UK & overseas), and at the club's training ground.
Conduct clinical assessments of soft tissue conditions and deliver evidence-based manual therapy interventions including massage, myofascial
release, stretching, and trigger point therapy.
Collaborate with physiotherapists, sports scientists, and medical staff to ensure seamless integration of treatment plans during injury rehabilitation
and return-to-play processes.
Educate players on injury prevention, recovery protocols, and self-management strategies to support longevity and performance.
Attend and contribute to daily multidisciplinary team (MDT) medical meetings.
Maintain full compliance with data protection, medical confidentiality, and safeguarding protocols.
Assist in pitch-side trauma cover (
ITMMIF Level 4 qualification required
) for selected training sessions.
Support the logistical planning of therapy equipment for travel (home/away fixtures and international tours).
Manage the FA drug testing whereabouts register for players and liaise with governing bodies as required.
Assist with drug testing procedures during training or matchday visits from anti-doping agencies.
Engage in CPD activity including internal training, external courses, and industry conferences to remain at the forefront of clinical practice.

Essential Qualifications & Experience:
Level 4 qualification in Advanced Therapeutic or Sports Massage.
BSc (Hons) in Sports Therapy.
BASRat Registration.
FA Level 4 ITMMIF (or relevant governing body)
Proven experience working in elite professional sport, preferably within football.
In-depth knowledge of anatomy, biomechanics, and soft tissue healing.
Skilled in a range of manual therapy techniques and recovery modalities.
Experience delivering therapy across varied environments, including travel and matchday settings.
