Role Focus:
One-to-One Teaching for SEN, SEMH, SEMD, and medical needs

We are seeking dedicated SEN Tutors or Mentors ready to inspire, motivate, and empower young learners with diverse needs. In this role, you will provide tailored academic and emotional support to students facing challenges such as Special Educational Needs (SEN), Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) issues, and medical conditions.
What You Will Do:
Create Safe Spaces:
Foster a supportive, nurturing environment where students feel confident to take risks and grow academically.
Personalise Learning:
Develop and implement bespoke educational plans that address each student's unique needs and strengths.
Support Families:
Collaborate closely with families to extend learning beyond the classroom and build a strong support network.
Inspire Growth:
Deliver engaging, empathetic lessons that boost self-esteem, resilience, and academic achievement.
Be a Role Model:
Lead by example, promoting positive behaviours and values that encourage personal development and lifelong learning.
Maintain accurate records of student performance and attendance.
Assess students' progress and adapt teaching methods accordingly to ensure effective learning.
Responsibilities:
Plan and deliver a bespoke mentoring or tutoring program in a safe and nurturing environment.
Child progression/ reporting to parents/ carers and stakeholders.
Design targets which match the child's needs.
Work collaboratively with colleagues, parents/ carers and stakeholders.
Attend appropriate CPD days throughout the academic year delivered by RISE AP staff or 3rd parties.
Working closely with Line Manager and management to ensure service standards and development.
Candidate Requirements:
A dedicated, committed team member with a strong work ethic. An engaging individual capable of supporting, guiding and inspiring young people with additional needs. A patient and empathetic personality with a passion for working with children who face difficulties in education and confidence in dealing with challenging behaviours,

Experience of working with children with SEN requirements in a school / educational setting. (E)
Experience of working with children with autism / PDA / ADHD / anxiety (E)
Understanding of EHCP and professional child assessments. (E)
Ability to understand the scope of individual learner specific requirements. (E)
Confidence to positively resolve issues with learners. (E)
Strong ability to educate and inspire students through creative teaching methods.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively interact with students, parents, and colleagues.
Patience, empathy, and adaptability in addressing the diverse needs of learners.
Provided Training:
IT systems used within the AP setting.
Paediatric First Aid training.
Child protection training.
Safeguarding training.
Autism awareness training.
Training in de-escalation techniques & strategies for behaviours that cause concern.
Continuous CPD and training as agreed.
