What's the role?

Metering Scheduler
, where you'll play a key role in coordinating work schedules for SMS field engineers and sub-contractors. Your focus will be on delivering efficient, cost-effective scheduling aligned with contractual obligations and client priorities.
In this role, you'll also manage the warrant project, responding to specific client bookings, and ensure each engineer is assigned sufficient chargeable work to meet departmental targets. You'll handle customer queries with professionalism and resolve them promptly, while working collaboratively across departments to meet customer needs.
Additional responsibilities include regular reporting and maintaining accurate databases to support operational efficiency.
Working Hours & Location
Hours
: 40 hours per week
Schedule
: Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 5:00pm
Location
: Trydan House, Cardiff Gate Business Park, Copse Walk, Pontprennau, Cardiff, CF23 8XH
Training & Hybrid Working
Training will take place over 2 to 3 weeks, with attendance in the office for 3 to 4 days per week. Upon completion, you'll transition to a hybrid working model:
2 days in the office, 3 days from home

Key responsibilities:
Schedule work for SMS Field Engineers & sub-contractors to ensure working day is efficient as possible.
Pick up and action requests sent via customer portals and Metering Services mailbox.
Prioritise work based on contractual agreements.
Identify any issues and raise to Metering Delivery Manager
Provide support to all SMS Field Engineers and sub-contractors.
Maintain Metering Database and any other relevant systems.
Ensure industry flows are sent where necessary.
Liaise with other departments to ensure optimum service delivery.
Liaise with customers regarding engineer availability, appointments, and access.
Prepare reports as requested by management.
Request access permits where applicable
Handling of ad-hoc queries from engineers, customers, Suppliers, and other team
To be considered for this role, we would love you to have:
Education up to GCSE (or equivalent) standard
Recognised course / qualification in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel etc)
Organisation skills
Reporting using relevant systems/databases
Excellent time management
Communication, written and verbal
Technical knowledge to offer solutions
Experience in energy industry or similar
Experience of working in a team
Experience of working under pressure and delivering deadline
