Studley Infants' School is looking to appoint a motivated, enthusiastic and committed Midday Supervisor.
What skills and experience we are looking for?
We are seeking an enthusiastic individual who is able to build trusting and successful relationships with children. The ideal candidate will demonstrate resilience and patience, possessing a strong awareness of children's needs and the ability to facilitate children's play. You should be a team player with a genuine desire to support, model, and guide children as they share time with their peers. Understandably children will sometimes have disagreements, it is these moments a Play Leader is key to being a positive role model for our children. This role requires Play Leaders to not judge situations on face value and have a want to support children by listening to both sides and modelling to children other ways to deal with situations that might arise. Other key skills include being able to use initiative, being physically able, good team player and a having positive outlook.

Typical tasks:
TYPICAL TASKS
Supervise toileting and washroom activity
Escort children to and from dining room
Supervise collection of meals and assist with use of cutlery
Assist pupils when returning used plates, trays, cutlery, glasses/beakers and clearing tables
Supervise pupils eating food brought from home and ensure packed lunch equipment is cleared away
Supervise classroom and outside activities, encouraging inclusion and keeping themselves and others safe.
Reminders of school expectations
Attend to minor accidents and/or support children that become unwell.
Successful communication to class teachers.
Monitor pupil behaviour, intervening as necessary in accordance with Relationships Policy (Behaviour Policy).
Contributing to the school's statutory duty to safeguard and promote the welfare of children

As this role is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974, the successful candidate will be subject to an enhanced DBS check with a Barred List check. Our pre-employment process will also include Teacher Prohibition List checks, overseas checks (where applicable); proof of qualifications (as specified in the person specification); section 128 checks (for those in management roles); medical fitness checks; identity and right to work checks. Applicants for roles working with children under five years during the school day and under eight years for those working in wraparound care will also be subject to Childcare Disqualification checks.
