We are a small firm looking to add to add an experienced fabricator to our manufacturing team with a focus on structural and architectural fabrication . The successful candidate will be responsible for performing high-quality welding operations, primarily using MIG techniques, to fabricate and assemble metal components. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a strong background in welding and fabrication to contribute to our production processes in a dynamic environment.
Duties
Execute MIG welding on various metal materials, ensuring adherence to technical specifications and safety standards
Utilise TIG welding techniques as required for specialised tasks or precise welds
Operate hand tools, power tools, and fabrication equipment to shape and assemble sheet metal and other components
Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and schematics to guide fabrication and welding processes
Perform basic measurements and calculations using mathematical skills to ensure accurate assembly and fitting of parts
Conduct quality checks on welds and finished products, making adjustments as necessary
Assist in the assembly of fabricated components into finished products or structures
Maintain a clean and safe work environment, adhering to health and safety regulations at all times
Requirements
Proven experience in MIG welding with a strong understanding of welding principles and techniques
Knowledge of TIG welding is preferred for specialised applications
Familiarity with various hand tools, power tools, and fabrication equipment used in metalworking
Mechanical knowledge relevant to assembly, sheet metal work, and fabrication processes
Ability to read technical drawings, blueprints, and schematics accurately
Basic math skills for measurements, calculations, and quality control purposes
Good organisational skills with the ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team
Strong attention to detail ensuring high-quality welds and finished products
