Sakina Ahmed Masjid, a new Mosque based in central Fareham, Hampshire, is seeking an experienced Imam and Hafiz to lead its Tarawih prayers during Ramadan and to support its regular prayer services, teaching programmes, community and outreach initiatives, and admin and communication with members of the public via various channels.

Duties

Lead Tarawih prayers during Ramadan Assist with the delivery of the 5 daily congregational prayers Assist with the Jumu'ah prayer, sermon and talk, and Eid prayers Assist with funeral prayers, marriage ceremonies and shahadah ceremonies, including documentation and communication Assist with teaching children aged 5 to 16 from 5:15pm to 7pm, Monday to Friday Assist with organising and running seminars, workshops, events, adult classes, and activities to engage young members of the congregation and the wider community Assist with Mosque admin, communication, social media, website and promotional activity, including posters and prayer timetables Assist with providing pastoral care for members of the community, with counselling, advice and signposting to relevant support groups

Qualifications

Imam and Hafiz with at least 1 year in role experience Certificate of Higher Education in Qur'an Memorisation and Islamic Studies English and Arabic (Essential)

Skills

Excellent communication, effective organiser and ability to work as part of a team Ability to build and maintain relationships with external organisations Good IT skills, particularly Microsoft Office and experience of social media platforms
