Overview


Rowcliffe Veterinary Practice is searching for the right candidate to work within a small supportive team that is committed to delivering exceptional veterinary care. We are a proudly independent, RCVS Accredited, mixed practice. The role is uniquely farm biased, best suited to a veterinary surgeon with a minimum of 1-2+ years of clinical experience. All CVs will however be considered.

Full-time vets work a four-day week, with an equal share of on-call duties. Two vets are always on call for support.

The team primarily works across The Eden Valley, and the client base includes a diverse mix of dairy, beef and sheep farmers. The surrounding area is perfect for those with a passion for the outdoors from fell running to water sports or just a gentle stroll and a tasty pub lunch.

TB testing is routine and is shared equally. A newly qualified ATT will soon be taking the bulk of the load.

The Package includes RCVS and VDS membership, paid CPD tailored to your interests with a generous budget, mobile phone and a fully equipped work vehicle.

We have excellent transport links both North and South with easy access to Liverpool, Manchester and Edinburgh (by car or train).

Responsibilities



Conduct thorough examinations of animals to assess their health and diagnose any medical conditions. Perform surgical procedures, including routine spays, neuters, and emergency surgeries. Develop and implement treatment plans tailored to each animal's needs. Maintain accurate medical records and documentation for all patients. Communicate effectively with pet owners regarding their animals' health, treatment options, and preventative care. Collaborate with veterinary technicians and support staff to ensure efficient clinic operations. Stay current with advancements in veterinary medicine through continuous education and training.

Experience



A degree in Veterinary Medicine or equivalent qualification is essential. Previous veterinary experience is required; experience in a clinical setting is highly desirable. Laboratory experience is advantageous for conducting diagnostic tests and interpreting results. Strong interpersonal skills to build rapport with clients and work effectively within a team environment. A commitment to ongoing professional development in the field of veterinary medicine.
