Due to the expansion of our landscaping division, we are looking for an experienced and skilled grounds foreman to work as part of a team ?across various sites in

Bracknell

and surrounding areas

.? As a Grounds Foreman, you will be responsible for maintaining outdoor spaces and landscapes across various locations according to scheduled visits, ensuring the highest standards in line with contract requirements.

Your main responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

Carry out a complete range of grounds maintenance tasks as directed by your line manager, including horticultural activities such as formative pruning of various plants, seasonal bedding installations, routine grass cutting, and watering of trees, shrubs, and bedding plants. Additional responsibilities include hedge trimming, irrigation, strimming, edge reformation, litter collection, and weed and leaf management. Empty bins, including bag removal and bag replacement where appropriate and recycle where necessary. To engage with the client when appropriate and in a professional manner, handling any issues and requests efficiently and in accordance with company procedure and policies. To have a great understanding and in-depth knowledge of the client's contractual terms and conditions. To effectively lead, supervise and motivate your team and ensure that activities and tasks are undertaken to the highest possible safety standards and in accordance with the contractual terms. Create a positive working environment by promoting teamwork and addressing any conflicts or concerns within the team. Provide a supportive and visible presence for your team and our clients. Communicate regularly with your line manager to provide updates on progress and challenges. Provide training to new employees, as requested by management, on proper landscaping techniques, equipment operation, and adherence to safety protocols. Conduct regular inspections of grounds and report any potential on-site hazards or equipment malfunction and take corrective actions as needed. Ensure an efficient, effective response to incidents and emergencies, maintaining strong communication with colleagues and external services. Set a positive example to others by complying with all company and site procedures and regulations, specifically regarding COSHH and Risk Assessments, reporting accidents and near misses to your line manager. Ensure all power tools and grounds maintenance equipment, machinery and vehicles in your charge are secure, in good working order, carry out routine maintenance and refer major mechanical problems to your line manager. Contribute to a positive team dynamic, building productive and professional relationships with team members, other employees, managers, clients, and external agencies. Provide support in the completion of any necessary documentation or reports, such as timesheets, vehicle check sheets or site condition updates, as needed. If necessary, maintain safe driving practices while operating a vehicle for mobile maintenance, ensuring compliance with traffic regulations and prioritising the safety of yourself and others on the road. Adhoc Duties - To undertake any other duties that may be required within your area of your responsibility.

Skills and experience:



Experience in all aspects of commercial grounds maintenance. A demonstrable ability to establish and sustain good working relationship within a team environment as well as the ability and initiative to work alone. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Full clean driving license (Essential). PA1/6 spray license (Desirable).
