Job Role: Mobile Service Engineer

Overview:

As a Mobile Service Engineer at Express Hire, you will be responsible for maintaining, servicing, and repairing a wide range of plant, tool, and equipment used by our customers. Working both directly on-site, and at our locations in Poole and Bournemouth you will ensure that machinery is operating safely, efficiently, and reliably, delivering excellent customer service while representing the company to a high standard.

Key Responsibilities:

Carry out routine servicing, inspections, and repairs of hire fleet equipment (plant, tools, small tools, etc.) at customer sites and our depots. Diagnose faults quickly and effectively, providing practical solutions to minimise downtime for customers. Respond to breakdowns promptly, ensuring equipment is repaired or replaced as required. Oversea and sometimes conduct pre-delivery checks and ensure all equipment meets safety and compliance standards. Maintain accurate service records, job sheets, and reports. Provide professional, friendly, and knowledgeable customer support while on-site. Manage company vehicle, tools, and parts stock effectively, ensuring they are kept in good condition. Adhere to health and safety procedures at all times.
Skills & Experience:

Previous experience as a service engineer, mechanic, or technician, ideally within plant hire, construction, or tool hire industry. Strong mechanical and electrical fault-finding skills. Ability to work independently, manage workload, and prioritise jobs. Excellent communication and customer service skills. Valid UK driving licence (essential). Relevant qualifications in plant maintenance, mechanics, or engineering (desirable but not always essential).
