The City of Doncaster Council is a confident, ambitious organisation which puts improving the life of its residents at the centre of ever ything we do. You have a opportunity to be part of this in the role of MST Therapist.
Are you ready to take your skills in working with young people and families to the next level?
City of Doncaster Council's Children's Services are proud to be launching an innovative team as part of our wider edge-of-care offer. We will be launching a brand-new Multisystemic Therapy (MST) team to address the behavioural challenges faced by young people between ages of 10 and 17, with a dual purpose:
Preventing family breakdown, or
Supporting safe reunification from care settings back to family or community-based foster care.
We're recruiting
two
full-time, permanent MST Therapists to join our Help and Protection Service and deliver this evidence-based intervention that transforms lives.
This is a unique opportunity to help shape how we approach reunification across the Borough - developing a bold and effective model to bring the right young people home with the right support in place.
About the Role
Whether you're a qualified social worker or other qualified professional - if you want to do purposeful, relationship-based, trauma informed and solution focused work with families, this is your chance.
You'll:
Work intensively with families where there is risk of breakdown or a reunification plan in place.
Partner closely with social workers to plan and deliver high-impact interventions.
Be part of a highly skilled, supportive team with a shared passion for keeping families together safely.
What You'll Get
We invest in our people. You'll receive:
MST training,
Weekly group supervision with the onsite supervisor and consultation from the MST consultant,
Quarterly clinical development days,
Training in Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) to support emotional regulation work with young people.
This role is a brilliant next step if you:
Want to deepen your therapeutic practice in a structured, evidence-led model,
Thrive in a team that values learning, reflection, and outcomes that matter.
The Practical Bit
You'll need flexibility - MST work involves home visits and some out-of-hours work to meet family needs. A willingness to visit young people where their current care placement is, this may require out of authority travel throughout the UK. In return, you'll be part of a council committed to innovation and care that works.
Ready to make a difference?
Apply now via the link. Interest is expected to be high - don't miss out.
