Multi-Skilled Bricklayer / Groundworker - First Choice Homes Oldham




At First Choice Homes Oldham (FCHO), our in-house maintenance team is key to keeping homes safe, well-maintained, and welcoming for our customers. With a large portfolio of properties across Oldham, we need skilled tradespeople who can handle a wide range of external and structural repairs - and that's where you come in.


We're looking for a

Multi-Skilled Bricklayer / Groundworker

to join our team. You'll be carrying out external maintenance and repairs, focusing on brickwork, groundworks, and associated tasks to ensure our homes and communities are kept to a high standard.

What you'll be doing



Carrying out all aspects of

groundworks

, including excavation, landscaping, paths, driveways, kerbs, and drainage. Completing

brickwork and masonry tasks

, such as bricklaying, repointing, rendering, and repairing walls. Installing, maintaining, and repairing property boundaries - including

walls, fencing, gates, and gate posts

. Undertaking associated minor works, including: + Patch plastering (sand/cement, float and set, skim, plasterboard & skim).
+ Cutting out and re-plastering cracks to walls (up to 3m).
+ Removing and replacing thermoplastic floor tiles.
+ Refitting or realigning gutters (plastic, cast iron, timber).
+ Renewing flashings and soakers (up to 1m in lead).
Supporting wider maintenance activity with

basic joinery and other minor building repairs

. Handling and disposing of materials safely and responsibly. Working with colleagues to deliver high-quality repairs, always ensuring a safe working environment.

What we're looking for



A relevant construction trade qualification

or

proven experience in bricklaying and groundworks. Strong skills and experience in: + Excavation, drainage, and external groundworks.
+ Laying and repairing paths, kerbs, and driveways.
+ Brickwork, repointing, bricklaying, and rendering.
+ Fencing, gates, and boundary repairs.
+ Patch plastering and associated plastering repairs.
+ Gutter and flashing works.
Previous experience working within

social housing repairs

(desirable but not essential). Excellent customer service skills - you'll be working in our communities and representing FCHO daily. A problem-solver who can work independently as well as part of a team.

Our Offer



Salary 34,396.28 per annum. A 37-hour working week - Monday to Friday, 8:00am - 4:00pm. Company vehicle, mobile device, and power tools provided. Holiday entitlement is 30 days, plus one shut down day which will be determined by the company and eight bank holidays. You can also purchase additional leave.
