We are now seeking an Multi skilled technician to join our team at BCP DEFRA, Sevington Inland Border Facility, Ashford, Kent

What you'll do: + Multi-Skilled Work: Carry out a variety of tasks, including general building repairs, even if they're outside your main electrical or mechanical trade.
+ Health & Safety: Always work safely and follow all safety rules and Sodexo's health and safety procedures.
+ Work Planning: Manage your own tasks, work independently when needed, and be a reliable team player.
+ Team Support: Help cover for other team members during holidays, sick leave, or when roles are unfilled.
+ Emergency Readiness: Keep your work phone with you during working hours to respond quickly to any emergencies.
+ Professional Communication: Always speak politely and respectfully with colleagues, clients, and their representatives to maintain strong customer service. Keep service managers informed about any building or engineering issues that may impact service.
+ Stock Control: Review and suggest key tools or parts that should be kept in stock regularly.
+ Task Management: Follow instructions from Facilities Managers or the Command Centre for both planned and reactive jobs.
+ System Use: Use the Maximo system to manage and complete both reactive and planned maintenance task

Essential

City & Guilds in Heating, Ventilation & Air Conditioning Knowledge of Mechanical and Electrical building services 5+ years of relevant experience in a similar role Able to diagnose faults and carry out repairs Can identify required parts and materials for tasks Basic skills across mechanical, electrical, and general building work Experience in building maintenance Understanding of how assets are maintained over time Flexible with shifts and on-call duties Professional when dealing with clients and teams Willing to join out-of-hours/on-call rota Able to pass BPSS/DBS checks Full UK driving license

Desirable

Extra qualifications in other building trades Asbestos Awareness CSCS Card HNC/HND or equivalent in Engineering or Building Experience using PDAs Knowledge of maintenance and legal requirements for plant and services
