Overview

We are seeking a skilled and versatile Tradesman to join our dynamic team on a Self Employed basis to support the busy Re-Active Maintenance Team. The ideal candidate will possess a broad range of skills in various trades, including elements of plumbing work, carpentry, and masonry., decorating and general building maintenance. This role requires a hands-on approach to maintenance, repair, and construction tasks across multiple projects. The successful applicant will demonstrate proficiency in using both hand and power tools while ensuring high-quality workmanship and adherence to safety standards.

PLEASE NOTE: Although this advert is in Telford, there will be a volume of driving to various locations to complete the re-active work. This role does come with a company van, for business use only, and the successful candidate will have to collect from Bristol. We will complete detailed background checks and request references based on a job offer.

Duties

Perform electrical installations and repairs, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations. Carry out carpentry tasks including framing, roofing, and fitting fixtures. Execute masonry work such as bricklaying and stonework for structural integrity. Fabricate and assemble components as required for various projects. Conduct plumbing tasks including installation and maintenance of pipes and fixtures. Apply painting techniques to enhance the aesthetic appeal of structures. Operate power tools safely and effectively for various construction tasks. Maintain a clean and organised work environment, adhering to health and safety protocols. Collaborate with team members to complete projects efficiently within set deadlines.

Qualifications

Proven experience in multiple trades such as electrical work, carpentry, masonry, plumbing, or painting. Proficiency in using hand tools and power tools relevant to the trade. Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot issues on-site. Excellent attention to detail with a commitment to delivering high-quality workmanship. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment. Good physical fitness with the ability to lift heavy materials when necessary. A valid driver's licence is preferred but not essential.
