VIY - Hiring Skilled Tradespeople

Freelance | Up to 130 - 150/day | Various Locations across South East

Who We Need:

We're looking for experienced

Multi trade operatives

with particular focus on

carpenters/joiners, painters, and builders

to deliver projects and mentor young volunteers.

We are seeking an experienced Multi trade Construction operative/Mentor to guide, support, and coach individuals on our funded Youth and Community Construction Skills projects with a particular focus on carpentry and p&d work . This is a unique opportunity for an individual who has both the skill and vision to make impactful community projects a reality and help those most in need.

The Role:

Work on local community projects Mentor and train young people in trade skills Help them gain

City & Guilds accreditation

Support career development in trades & construction

Ideal Candidate:

? Experienced in a trade (carpentry, painting, plumbing, brickwork)
? Passion for mentoring young people (experience preferred but not essential)
? Able to guide, support, and inspire the next generation

You will have to be confident in teaching your skills. We are looking for someone whose hands-on expertise and professional insight will be vital in helping some of the most vulnerable young people in our society to build confidence, technical skills, and real-world knowledge.

This role is perfect for a seasoned contractor looking to give back to the industry by sharing their experience and helping shape the next generation of tradespeople.

What We Offer:

130 - 150/day

(based on experience & mentoring skills)

Responsibilities:

Hands-on trade work + mentoring
Work alongside other mentors & site leads
Support young people in gaining trade skills & accreditation's
Ensure safety & safeguarding policies are followed
