for a

short-term contract

focused on

school renovation and finishing projects

. This role is ideal for builders with experience in multiple trades--carpentry, plumbing, plastering, tiling, or general construction--who can work efficiently across different aspects of a school refurbishment or new build. You'll be working on-site to ensure projects are delivered to a high standard, meeting both safety regulations and client expectations.

Key Responsibilities

Undertake a variety of tasks across carpentry, plastering, tiling, painting, and basic plumbing, ensuring high-quality finishes and timely completion. Work across multiple areas of the school site, including classrooms, staff rooms, hallways, and communal areas. Read and interpret technical drawings and specifications for accurate execution of the work. Collaborate with other trades on-site to ensure seamless delivery of projects. Adhere to health and safety standards, particularly in school environments, ensuring minimal disruption to the school's operations. Maintain a clean and organised work area, with attention to safety protocols required for an educational setting. Provide general maintenance and repair work on existing school structures as required.

Requirements

Proven experience as a

multi-trade builder

with proficiency in

carpentry, plastering, tiling, and general construction

. Ability to work independently and efficiently across various trades. Strong understanding of construction principles and the ability to interpret technical plans. Previous experience working on school or public sector projects is preferred. Valid DBS enhanced. Public liability insurance (required for subcontractors). Own tools and transport are highly desirable. Good communication skills and ability to work well in a team environment.
