About the Role
This is a
varied, hands-on machining role
where you'll have the chance to get involved in the
full manufacturing process
-- from CAD design, CAM programming, and CNC machining, through to traditional manual turning and finishing.
We're looking for someone who is as comfortable at the controls of a CNC mill as they are setting up a manual lathe. You'll play a key part in producing precision components for our heavy industrial machinery, often working from bespoke engineering drawings for low-volume, high-quality parts.
Key Responsibilities
Programming, setting, and operating
CNC milling and turning machines
Using
CAD/CAM software
to translate designs into production-ready toolpaths
Reading and interpreting complex engineering drawings
Performing
manual machining
(lathes, mills, drills) as required
Carrying out quality inspections using precision measuring tools
Supporting continuous improvement and workflow optimisation in the workshop
Collaborating with design, assembly, and engineering teams
What We're Looking For
Proven experience in
CNC machining and manual machining
Comfortable using
CAD and CAM software
(Fusion 360, SolidCAM, or similar)
Strong understanding of materials, speeds, feeds, and tooling
Excellent attention to detail and pride in high-quality workmanship
Flexible, reliable and team-oriented
Apprenticeship or NVQ Level 3 in machining, manufacturing or equivalent (preferred)
