Herts Music Centre has been supporting the development of musicians in Hertfordshire and St Albans since opening in 2012. We provide musical instrument tuition, repairs and servicing, rental and practice room hire as well as 2000 sq ft of music retailing all under one roof.
Our mission is to promote music making for all ages and abilities and provide the necessary services and support to allow musical development to thrive.
The Role
Our music tuition centre currently serves over 320 students per week, through 25 tutors across 9 teaching studios. In order to fulfil our regular stream of new student enquiries
we are looking for an additional talented Brass tutor
to join our team for
up to
two week days initially from 15:30-20:00 to cater for the majority of our students who take lessons outside of school hours. The usual instruments our students learn are Cornet, Trumpet, and Trombone - teaching piano provides opportunity to teach additional students.
Music tuition at Herts Music Centre is offered throughout the year and as the Centre is open from 10:00 most days, there is also scope for teaching adults during the daytime to extend tutor working hours.
Tutors at HMC work on a self-employed basis and are paid fortnightly and as our administration team arranges all billing, payment collection, scheduling, new student sign ups and promotion so our tutors can focus purely on their students and teaching.
Herts Music Centre's tutors are permitted to deliver whatever scheme of work they feel is best suited for the student and are not obliged to prepare for pre-defined exam boards. We actively encourage tutors to consider whether the student is starting lessons with a focus on examinations or whether they are just learning for enjoyment.
