The Role
The Project Officer will be employed by the BBNPA and work with the Mynydd Iach Penderyn Partnership (MIPP), its individual members and organisations including farmers, 3 1/2 days a week, to lead on administering and delivering the project in accordance with the Project Plan and budget. The project aims to build the Partnerships capacity, and that of its constituent organisations, to collaborate to deliver nature recovery and networks, land use for net zero and sustainable agriculture on the Manor Penderyn Common, and to explore opportunities to extend this work into local environs.
Duties include convening and facilitating meetings and workshops, planning, tracking and evaluating project delivery and budgets, carrying out and commissioning project evaluation, developing further grant applications, liaising with expert organisations, letting contracts, drafting an integrated site management plan, keeping abreast of grant opportunities, the Sustainable Farming Scheme and relevant policy, and advising the MIPP.
You will need to be self-motivated with excellent communication and organisational skills and be able to work collaboratively. Knowledge of hill farming and commons grazing, the natural environment and a commitment to nature recovery and land use for net zero will be important for this role. You will be happy to work evenings and weekends as required within a flexible working pattern; spoken Welsh will be an advantage but is not essential.
