The Role

As Operations Manager, you'll provide leadership and hands-on support to our dedicated teams across:

Ecology, education, farming, and countryside management.

You'll:

Guide and develop teams to deliver excellence in their work. Oversee operational performance, set targets, and balance competing priorities. Drive the design and delivery of innovative conservation and access projects, ensuring they are impactful, on time, and on budget. Lead our journey towards net zero, starting with the delivery of a Climate Change Adaptation Plan. Deputise for the National Landscape Director at senior management meetings and represent us with partners and stakeholders.

This is a unique opportunity to combine leadership, strategy, and project delivery in a role that directly shapes the future of Chichester Harbour.

About You

We're looking for someone who is not only experienced but also passionate about making a difference. You'll bring:

A relevant degree-level education (e.g. social or environmental science), with postgraduate qualifications desirable. At least three years' proven experience as an Operations or Project Manager (or equivalent role), including line management of diverse teams. A strong track record of building and sustaining positive relationships with staff, partners, and stakeholders. The ability to inspire, innovate, and deliver measurable results.

If you thrive in dynamic environments, enjoy leading teams, and are motivated by protecting nature and connecting people to it, we'd love to hear from you.

Why Join Us?

At Chichester Harbour Conservancy, we believe in excellence, collaboration, and empowering people to reach their potential. You'll be joining a supportive, motivated team dedicated to protecting and restoring nature in one of the UK's most iconic coastal landscapes.
