Working within our IT team, you will be responsible for maintaining and upkeeping our enterprise networks, as well as assisting with escalated Helpdesk tickets related to your position. The Network Engineer will provide network design services that meet and exceed the needs of major automobile companies. You will ensure adherence to departmental standards, perform technical research and analysis, manage network security, and proactively oversee the resolution of complex technical issues with a sense of urgency.
The Network Engineer reports to the Senior Manager, Network Engineering.
You'll have the opportunity to be involved with:
Designing and configuring enterprise network architecture, including subnetting, installation, and scope definition in collaboration with other departments.
Configuring routers, switches, and firewalls according to company security standards, monitor security measures to prevent breaches, and ensure stable, secure, and resilient network systems for maximum uptime.
Regularly monitoring all network devices to provide rapid issue resolution and ensure optimal performance, including analysing data traffic patterns and recommending improvements.
Developing detailed implementation plans to accommodate network growth, enhancing security, and maximising the functionality of network equipment.
Leading technical research and development to enable continuous infrastructure innovation, staying updated with new technologies, and recommending cost-effective solutions to management.
Providing exceptional customer service by taking personal ownership of issues, following through to resolution, and ensuring thorough solutions. Regularly report project status and timelines to management.
Developing and implementing resilient network backup and recovery systems to maintain reliable network operations.

Over 7 years of relevant work experience, preferably in enterprise environments, with a strong background in working with Cisco networking equipment and a variety of networking operating systems and devices (HP, Dell, Brocade, Sonicwall, Aruba, Ruckus, etc.).
Cisco Certifications CCNP or equivalent work experience; Bachelor's Degree preferred.
High-level ability and use of routing protocols such as BGP, EIGRP, OSPF, including route convergence and AS number usage.
Proficient in MS Office and Visio for documentation and reporting purposes.
Strong attention to detail with a sense of urgency in addressing and resolving technical issues.
Outstanding communication skills to effectively interact with team members and stakeholders, coupled with excellent time management abilities to handle multiple tasks and projects efficiently.
