Duties



Design, deploy, and manage network infrastructure including LAN, WAN, MPLS, and SD-WAN solutions. Configure and maintain network devices such as Cisco routers, switches, Juniper devices, and firewalls (Cisco ASA, ISE). Implement and support VPNs (IPsec, SSL), load balancing solutions, and high availability architectures to ensure seamless connectivity. Monitor network performance using tools like SolarWinds, PRTG, and Splunk; perform troubleshooting to resolve issues promptly. Manage network security protocols including firewall rules, IDS/IPS systems, encryption standards (SSL/TLS), PKI certificates, LDAP/Active Directory integration. Oversee remote access solutions via SSH, RDP, VPNs, and other secure methods; support telecommunication systems such as VoIP. Maintain DNS, DHCP, NFS, SAN storage systems; administer operating systems including Windows Server, Linux distributions (Ubuntu, Debian, CentOS), Solaris. Automate network tasks using scripting languages such as PowerShell, Bash Shell Scripting or Python; utilise Ansible for configuration management. Collaborate on network architecture planning aligned with organisational needs; implement network installation projects efficiently. Ensure compliance with ITIL standards and best practices for system administration and network management.

Skills



Extensive knowledge of computer networking concepts including TCP/IP protocols, routing protocols (BGP, OSPF EIGRP), VLANs, QoS. Proficiency in configuring and managing Cisco ISE, Cisco ASA firewalls; experience with Juniper devices is advantageous. Strong understanding of network security principles including encryption (SSL/TLS), SSO authentication methods (LDAP), IDS/IPS systems. Experience with cloud platforms such as Azure and AWS; familiarity with virtualisation technologies like VMware vSphere and Citrix. Skilled in system administration across multiple operating systems including Windows Server environments and Linux distributions (Ubuntu, CentOS). Knowledge of DevOps practices integrating network management tools like SolarWinds or PRTG with automation frameworks such as Ansible. Ability to implement high availability architectures using load balancers and clustering solutions; experience with SAN storage is desirable. Familiarity with scripting languages (Python, Bash) for automation tasks; experience with network monitoring tools like SolarWinds or Splunk is preferred. Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to analyse complex network issues quickly and effectively.
