What You\'ll Do:

  • The Networks Planning and Design Authority role demands a high level of competence across various domains. This central role within the Planning Team requires a knowledge of Radio Access technologies, Propagation Modelling and Radio Planning. Statistical and geospatial modelling skills are also desirable.
  • In this role you will play a key part in helping Vodafone achieve its Network objectives, contributing to the planning and expansion of the mobile network, ensuring efficient and high-quality coverage is delivered for our customers. Leveraging your expertise in radio planning, propagation modelling and Geographic Information Systems (GIS) to support our network development efforts.
  • Through the analysis and utilisation of geospatial data, this role aids in creating comprehensive network coverage assessments, leading to well-informed recommendations for coverage improvements. This ensures Vodafone\'s network remains competitive in a rapidly evolving telecommunications landscape. This Networks Authority role is pivotal in enhancing all things relating to network coverage, ultimately aiming to deliver a seamless and reliable mobile communication experience for our customers.
  • You will assist in the development and automation of GIS models and processes is crucial for defining and supporting Network coverage analysis. This includes the generation of Network Coverage KPI Reports for internal submission and to support customer enquiries.
  • Perform geospatial (GIS) modelling and reporting for specific projects, ad-hoc analyses, reports and day-to-day business activities while exploring \'what-if\' scenarios
  • Demonstrated capability to uphold strict confidentiality standards when handling competitive and sensitive information.
Who You Are:
  • Extensive experience of radio networks and the processes and tools used in the design and optimisation of the radio network.
  • Experience in Propagation Modelling and Radio Planning
  • High level knowledge of network deployment activities and processes
  • Understanding of 2G, 3G, 4G and 5G radio technologies and planning techniques
  • Experience with network planning tools and software
  • Practised user of geospatial software packages, such as MapInfo and/or ESRI ArcGIS with Spatial Analyst
