Full Time / 37 Hours Per Week / Permanent
Join our dynamic and vibrant Digital, Data, and Technology Service in enabling the council to deliver quality infrastructure, platform and application services and improve positive engagement with businesses and the communities we serve. The service act as a crucial member in the support and management of the core infrastructure. It's an exciting time to join the team as they are currently supporting the ambitious programme of Digital Transformation, leveraging technology to transform and modernise internal processes to improve service design, delivery, and information.
This is a full time, permanent post working 37 hours Monday to Friday. Working both remotely and in the office. On occasion you will be expected to work outside of normal office hours to attend meetings, conferences, and system testing. work occasionally outside normal office hours, e.g. for meetings, conferences, system testing etc. In addition, you may be required to travel within the city and occasionally further a-field to attend training, presentations, conferences etc. However, we offer flexible and agile working to reflect this and promote a healthy/work-life balance.

What you'll be doing
As a member of a small, dedicated team you'll play an integral role in the support and management of the core infrastructure. In addition, you'll support our ambitious programme of Digital Transformation and other key project streams and service requirements. You'll have a key role in the implementation, support and maintenance of Internet, LAN, WAN, Security, and IP Telephony Services on the network that we provide.
You'll be working on both Business as Usual and project work, including, but not limited to, the rollout of a new Cisco SDA (Software Defined Access) network and Next Generation Wi-Fi and Security Solutions.
Within the role, you'll be encouraged to research, recommend, and implement changes to enhance systems and network security. Your ability to collaborate both internally and externally regarding system, network and application delivery is essential for your success.
What you'll need
With substantial experience ranging from planning and managing system and people change to past project team delivery and technical architecture design, recommendation, and implementation your range of knowledge will be varied. Having previously worked in Cisco and Palo Alto network environments you'll showcase experience of routing protocols, such as, OSPF, BGP. In addition, you'll have knowledge and understanding of how to monitor, and trouble shoot complex hardware, software and network faults to reduce network disruption within LCC as much as possible.
As a confidant communicator, you'll be able to communicate both verbally and in written context. You'll have experience with Unified communication systems, preferably Microsoft Teams. Your ability to successfully communicate will also play a key role in the effective management, monitoring and motivating of your team. With excellent organisational skills, you'll not only be able to plan and prioritise your own work but that of others too ensuring that all deadlines are met in a timely and accurate manner.
