The Opportunity
This role is for a proven new-business hunter who thrives on autonomy, takes ownership of results and knows how to build pipeline from scratch.
Oakford is looking for an experienced New Business Development Manager to drive new logo acquisition across our Private Cloud, Connectivity and Telecoms portfolio. You'll operate with a high degree of independence, managing your own activity, building your own pipeline and owning opportunities end-to-end--from first conversation through to contract signature.
This is a quota-carrying role with clear expectations, realistic targets and uncapped earning potential. If you enjoy outbound-led sales, winning competitive deals and being trusted to get on with the job, this role will suit you.

Who This Role Is For
You are a confident, self-sufficient BDM with a strong track record of opening doors and closing new business.
You're comfortable working independently with minimal supervision, you manage your time effectively, and you hold yourself accountable to outcomes. You don't rely on inbound leads or scripts--you know how to prospect, qualify and progress opportunities using a structured, consultative approach.
You enjoy engaging senior decision-makers, leading bids and navigating complex buying processes, while maintaining a disciplined and predictable pipeline.

What You'll Be Doing
Generating new business through self-led outbound activity including calls, LinkedIn, events, networking and referrals
Owning the full sales cycle from initial contact through to close
Building and maintaining a strong, self-generated pipeline in CRM
Leading and coordinating tender responses and competitive bids
Running consultative discovery meetings to uncover customer needs, challenges and commercial drivers
Presenting Oakford's cloud, connectivity and telecoms solutions via Teams and in person when required
Forecasting accurately and consistently against monthly and quarterly targets
Working closely with Marketing and internal teams to support deal progression and smooth onboarding

What Success Looks Like
Within your first 90 days, a successful BDM will:
Have established a credible, multi-six-figure pipeline
Be executing consistent outbound activity across multiple channels
Be progressing qualified opportunities with clear next steps
By 6 months, you will:
Have secured 10+ new customers
Be delivering 125%+ of your role cost in margin contribution
Maintain 3-4x pipeline coverage with accurate forecasting
Consistently demonstrate Oakford's values in how you work with customers and colleagues

Essential Experience & Skills
3+ years' proven success in a new business, hunter-style sales role
Experience selling connectivity (FTTP, FTTC, etc.), private cloud and telecoms solutions
Proven ability to lead bids and win contracts of varying size and complexity
Strong commercial acumen with confident negotiation skills
Ability to engage and influence senior stakeholders and decision-makers
Excellent communication skills--written, verbal and presentation
Highly organised, resilient and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
Full UK driving licence and willingness to attend meetings when required
