Due to continued expansion, we are seeking an experienced Night Shift Manager to join our dynamic team and drive operational excellence in our high-speed, highly automated chilled/frozen ready meals environment.

The Role

Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will lead a large team on the night shift, taking full accountability for production performance, people management, hygiene operations, and site standards. This hands-on role is ideal for an experienced Production Shift Manager from a fast-paced food manufacturing background who thrives in delivering results through strong leadership and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

Deliver site KPIs, including productivity, efficiency, quality, waste reduction, and cost targets Lead and develop the shift team, including overseeing the night hygiene team to ensure exceptional cleaning and sanitation standards Manage performance, training needs, skills matrices, succession planning, and disciplinary/grievance processes Champion health & safety, conducting accident investigations and driving continuous improvements in site safety Ensure adherence to food safety standards (including HACCP), maintaining zero defects through robust process controls Promote a culture of continuous improvement using Lean/CI tools, reviewing processes, SOPs, and KPIs Monitor and minimise wastage, manage resources effectively, and contribute to budgetary goals Maintain the highest standards of hygiene, quality, and environmental practices, including waste separation

About You

Proven experience as a Shift Manager in a high-speed FMCG food manufacturing environment (chilled/frozen ready meals highly desirable) Strong people management skills with a track record of building engaged, flexible teams Hands-on knowledge of highly automated production sites and continuous improvement/Lean methodologies Excellent understanding of health & safety, food safety (HACCP), and quality systems, including hygiene management Proactive, resilient, and able to drive accountability in a fast-paced, night shift setting
