The Transportation Coordinator plays a crucial role in managing and optimising the logistics and supply chain operations of our organisation. This position involves coordinating transportation activities, ensuring timely delivery of goods, and maintaining effective communication with clients and team members. The ideal candidate will possess strong organisational skills, a solid understanding of logistics, and the ability to lead a team effectively.

Responsibilities

Coordinate and oversee all transportation activities to ensure efficient delivery of products. Manage logistics operations, including route planning and scheduling. Collaborate with suppliers, drivers, and customers to facilitate smooth communication. Maintain accurate records of shipments, deliveries, and inventory levels. Utilise Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook) for reporting and documentation. Implement best practices in supply chain management to enhance operational efficiency. Provide exceptional customer service by addressing inquiries and resolving issues promptly. Lead and support a team of drivers and logistics personnel to achieve departmental goals.

Skills

Strong management skills with the ability to lead teams effectively. Proficient in driving principles and logistics operations. Knowledgeable in supply chain processes and best practices. Excellent computer literacy with proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook). Fluent in English with strong communication skills for effective interaction with clients and colleagues. Exceptional organisational skills to manage multiple tasks efficiently. A background in IT is advantageous for managing transportation software systems. Demonstrated customer service skills to foster positive relationships with clients.
