We are seeking a dedicated and energetic NIGHTS Registered General Nurse (RGN) to join our dynamic healthcare team. Duties



Deliver comprehensive nursing care by performing thorough patient assessments, vital sign monitoring, and physical examinations using advanced medical terminology and physiology knowledge. Administer medications, injections, IV infusions, and perform venipuncture with precision and adherence to aseptic techniques while maintaining strict compliance with HIPAA regulations. Manage airway care, ventilator support, catheterization procedures, and ostomy care for diverse patient populations including those in ICU, PICU, or long-term care settings. Conduct diagnostic evaluations such as laboratory specimen collection/processing, radiology procedures like sonography or mammography, and assist with medical imaging as needed. Document all patient interactions accurately within electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Cerner or Athenahealth, ensuring compliance with NCQA standards and ICD coding requirements (ICD-9/10). Coordinate discharge planning, case management, and health coaching to promote optimal recovery and ongoing wellness for patients across outpatient clinics or home & community care environments. Participate in infection control protocols and maintain sterile processing standards to uphold safety in surgical or procedural areas like outpatient or ambulatory surgery centers. Support triage activities in urgent care or emergency room settings by prioritizing patient needs based on trauma medicine principles and Level I/II trauma center experience. Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams in specialty areas such as behavioral health, geriatrics--including dementia and Alzheimer's care--and pediatric or neonatal units. Assist with complex procedures including suturing, gastric lavage, spinal taps, or dermal fillers when applicable.

Qualifications



Valid registration as a Registered General Nurse (RGN) with current practicing license. Proven experience in various clinical environments such as hospital medicine, critical care units (ICU), emergency medicine, or medical-surgical wards. Demonstrated proficiency with EMR/EHR systems like Cerner or Athenahealth; familiarity with ICD coding (ICD-9/10) is highly desirable. Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pharmacology, and medical terminology essential for accurate patient assessment and diagnostic evaluation. Experience administering injections, IV insertions, tube feeding management, ventilator support, and performing phlebotomy with aseptic technique. Ability to work effectively with diverse populations including children (pediatrics), elderly patients (geriatrics), individuals with developmental disabilities or memory care needs. Critical care experience preferred--especially ICU or trauma center exposure--alongside skills in acute pain management and infection control practices. Excellent communication skills for patient education, discharge planning, and collaboration within multidisciplinary teams.
