We are seeking a dedicated and energetic NIGHTS Registered General Nurse (RGN) to join our dynamic healthcare team. Duties
Deliver high-quality nursing care by performing thorough patient assessments, including vital signs, physical examinations, and detailed medical histories.
Administer medications and injections accurately following prescribed protocols, including IV infusions and injections.
Manage airway and ventilator support for patients requiring respiratory assistance, ensuring strict aseptic techniques and infection control standards.
Conduct diagnostic evaluations such as specimen collection, processing laboratory tests, and utilizing medical imaging tools like sonography or radiography when necessary.
Assist with complex procedures including suturing, catheterization (urinary and vascular), tube feeding, gastric lavage, and spinal taps.
Provide specialized care for diverse patient groups such as pediatrics, geriatrics, neonatal patients on ventilators, or individuals with developmental disabilities or dementia.
Coordinate discharge planning and case management to ensure seamless transitions between hospital, home care, or long-term care facilities.
Maintain meticulous medical documentation using EMR (Electronic Medical Record) systems like Epic or Cerner while adhering to HIPAA regulations to protect patient privacy.
Participate in triage processes in urgent care or emergency room settings to prioritize patient needs effectively.
Support infection control protocols and ensure aseptic techniques are consistently followed during all procedures.
Engage in health coaching and patient education to promote wellness, medication adherence, and chronic disease management.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including physicians, therapists, social workers, and specialists to deliver comprehensive care aligned with NCQA standards and ICD coding practices.
Experience
Proven experience as an RGN or registered nurse in diverse clinical environments such as hospitals (including Level I Trauma Centers), outpatient clinics, or long-term care facilities.
Demonstrated expertise in critical care settings like ICU or PICU with familiarity in trauma medicine and acute pain management.
Hands-on experience with advanced medical procedures including cardiac catheterization, dialysis support, ostomy care, or wound management such as ostomy or sterile processing techniques.
Proficiency in using EMR/EHR systems such as Epic or Cerner for accurate documentation of patient records and medical history updates.
Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy & physiology fundamentals, ICD coding (ICD-9/10), CPT coding for procedures, and laboratory testing procedures including phlebotomy and specimen processing.
Experience working with specialized populations such as patients with infectious diseases, behavioral health needs, hospice & palliative medicine cases, or those requiring memory care or Alzheimer's/dementia support.
Ability to perform complex assessments including trauma triage at Level II/Level I trauma centers; familiarity with occupational health protocols is a plus.
Strong skills in IV insertion/infusion therapy, venipuncture (venipuncture), catheter care (urinary & vascular), airway management (ventilators), and basic life support certification required.
Prior experience working with children (pediatric nursing), neonates on ventilators or infants requiring neonatal intensive care is highly desirable.
