is seeking dedicated

Waking Night Support Workers

to join our solo residential provision in Reading. This is a key role, supporting a child or young person with complex emotional and behavioural needs in a one-to-one, therapeutic setting.

Far beyond simply monitoring, this is an opportunity to offer trauma-informed, relationship-based care during the hours when it matters most.

Your Role



As a Waking Night Support Worker, you'll provide consistent, compassionate care throughout the night--helping a young person feel safe, seen, and supported as they rest and recover. Working in close collaboration with daytime teams, you'll play a vital role in ensuring continuity of care and emotional stability.

Key Responsibilities



Deliver calm, trauma-informed care in a solo residential setting Provide emotional reassurance and build a sense of safety overnight Support and follow personalised bedtime routines and care plans Monitor wellbeing, respond to incidents sensitively and appropriately Maintain accurate records and provide detailed shift handovers Collaborate with daytime colleagues to ensure consistent, joined-up support Act as a trusted, therapeutic adult presence throughout the night

You're emotionally resilient, grounded, and patient--able to provide comfort and calm in the stillness of the night. You bring professional boundaries alongside warmth and understanding, and you're committed to supporting young people with complex needs.

We welcome candidates with:



Experience supporting children or young people with emotional or behavioural needs (preferred) A calm, compassionate approach and confident handling of incidents Strong communication skills, both written and verbal A commitment to trauma-informed, child-centred practice A

Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare

(or a willingness to work towards it)
