The Role

As a NIHL File Handler you will:

Manage a pre-lit caseload of NIHL from instruction through to resolution/escalation. Contact clients (via phone/email) to gather instructions, provide regular updates and offer clear guidance. Maintain ongoing client communications: ring clients, respond to queries, reassure and advise on the process. Review and analyse medical / personnel / occupational records and other evidence. Liaise with third parties including medical experts, insurers, solicitors and agencies. Prepare and draft correspondence, statements and case documents. Monitor and diarise important dates. Negotiate and work towards settlement. Ensure adherence to internal Service Level Agreements, regulatory requirements and best practice. Maintain accurate records, update case management systems and report on file status. Maintain knowledge of relevant legislation and frameworks.

What We're Looking For

Essential:

Strong communication skills: you'll be speaking to clients, so empathy, clarity and professionalism are key. Excellent organisational ability and attention to detail: managing multiple files, deadlines and tasks simultaneously. Proactive attitude: able to work under direction and also take initiative. Comfortable using IT systems (case-management database, MS Office). NIHL claims handling experience.
Desirable:

Some litigation experience in claims handling within EL/PL personal injury.
