Role Purpose:
As the Nursery Admin Assistant, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth day-to-day operation of Park Farm Day Nursery by providing efficient and friendly administrative support. You will be the first point of contact for parents and visitors and will work closely with the Nursery Manager to help maintain accurate records, assist with communication, and support our outstanding level of care and organisation.
Key Responsibilities:
Act as the first point of contact at reception - greeting parents, carers, and visitors warmly and professionally.
Handle telephone and email enquiries, ensuring messages are relayed promptly and accurately.
Manage children's registration, attendance records, and update contact information.
Support the admissions process including waiting list management and enrolment paperwork.
Assist in maintaining accurate staff records, including training logs and DBS checks.
Help organise events, parent communications, newsletters, and open days.
Liaise with the finance team regarding invoicing, fee collection, and payment queries.
Order and monitor nursery supplies and resources as required.
Ensure the nursery's filing systems (both paper-based and digital) are kept up to date.
Uphold confidentiality in all matters and ensure compliance with GDPR and safeguarding policies.
Support the Nursery Manager with daily admin tasks to ensure the smooth running of the nursery.
Person Specification:
Essential:
Previous experience in an administrative or receptionist role.
Friendly, calm, and professional approach with excellent communication skills.
Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently.
Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
Ability to prioritise tasks and manage time effectively.
Commitment to safeguarding, child protection, and confidentiality.
Desirable:
Experience working in a nursery, school, or early years environment.
Familiarity with nursery management systems (e.g., Famly or similar).
Knowledge of EYFS and early years sector regulations.
