About Us

We are looking for a Nursery Assistant who has high expectations and lots of energy! You will need to be excited by teaching and learning in the Early Years, have an understanding of best practice and be able to positively support our amazing children.



You will be supporting our Keycarers within Daycare, 0-3s, in developing children's learning and care needs. You will be working with a diverse range of children, with differing backgrounds and levels of need, therefore you will need to be flexible, approachable and a good communicator. Experience, either paid or voluntary, is essential.

Job Details

Salary:

West Sussex Grade 3 24,796 pro rata (pay award pending), if qualified to Level 3 in a related childcare qualification

Working Pattern:

28.75 hours per week

Contract Type

: Fixed term until July 2026 (term-time only Monday to Friday) with the possibility of extending into September 2026

What You Need to Succeed

To be successful in this role you will need to:

Have a clear understanding of child development and knowledge of how the EYFS can be used to support learning. Demonstrate good communication and interpersonal skills in order to provide clear and effective observations or feedback to colleagues. Have the ability to work as part of a team, building positive working relationships. Willingness to work flexibly, including extra hours, change of shift patterns and at other local authority early years provision within a reasonable distance. Have the ability to work appropriately at all times and maintain discretion, when dealing with information that may be of a personal, confidential or sensitive nature.
